Elizabeth Warren Wants To Crack Down on Crisis Pregnancy Centers

Elizabeth Warren Wants To “STOP” This Service For Women

(RightWing.org) – Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is firing back efforts to prevent abortions in the wake of the recent Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade. To help achieve that aim, the progressive firebrand recently started targeting crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) for providing information regarding reproductive services to women.

On June 29, Warren held a roundtable discussion with abortion rights groups in Boston. She lashed out at CPCs, saying, “We need to… stop [them] right now.” She also complained that the centers outnumber “genuine abortion clinics” by a margin of three to one in Massachusetts.

Warren also issued a press release announcing the introduction of the Stop Anti-Abortion Disinformation Act in June. Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Representatives Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) co-sponsored the measure along with a parade of other left-wing lawmakers.

Warren explained the bill would crack down on so-called false advertising used by CPCs to discourage women from seeking proper reproductive care, “including abortions.”

The legislation directs the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to create rules prohibiting the distribution of misleading or deceptive information related to abortion services. It also grants the FTC the authority to impose fines and other penalties for violations.

As one might expect, abortion advocates like Planned Parenthood, the Guttmacher Institute, and NARAL Pro-Choice America support the passage of Warren’s draconian measure.

What do you think about Warren’s effort to crack down on crisis pregnancy centers’ exercise of free speech?
