NIH To Launch New Experiments On Puppies
(RightWing.org) – In February journalists reported that the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where controversial Dr. Anthony Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), had spent $2.5 million to inject puppies with cocaine. The public was furious – but now more experiments are being planned.
On May 23, The Washington Free Beacon reported that the NIAID, which Fauci leads, allocated almost $2 million in taxpayer funding to test an experimental drug on animals. Documents obtained by the White Coat Waste Project, which campaigns against unnecessary government-funded research on animals, show that NIAID tried to purchase special allergen-sensitive dogs to carry out research into a new hay fever treatment. None of the dogs were available, though, and health agency suggested using 6-month-old puppies. The request was made even though Inimmune, a Montana-based biotech lab, the agency hired to carry out the tests, said researchers could use guinea pigs instead.
The NIH has a track record of ordering controversial experiments. In March, Breitbart revealed that the institute had paid a Russian lab to carry out a series of brutal and deadly experiments on cats. Meanwhile, the White Coat Waste Project has uncovered NIH-funded animal research in over 50 other countries, including China. Representative Lisa McClain (R-MI) has introduced legislation to defund animal research in hostile countries like China and Russia, but the health institute seems to be plowing on regardless.
