(RightWing.org) – It’s no great secret Liberals oppose gun rights. Joe Biden campaigned on a promise to enact strict gun control measures, and Kamala Harris has a history of prosecuting gun owners going back to her time as California’s attorney general. So it should come as no surprise Biden’s Justice Department is using absurd talking points involving gun safety to target stores selling firearms.
On Monday, January 3, the Justice Department issued a press release discussing a new rule aimed at enabling the “safe and secure storage of firearms. The rule is set to take effect on February 3, and requires federal firearms licensees to certify they have secure gun storage or safety devices available for purchase for customers buying a firearm. The new rule used existing elements of the Gun Control Act of 1968 to legally justify the draconian measure.

Biden’s new attorney general, Merrick Garland, weighed in on the measure. According to him, the rule builds on the Justice Department’s efforts to keep firearms from “falling into the wrong hands,” as if having a gun cabinet or trigger guard qualifies someone as having the right hands.
What do you think? Do you accept the Justice Department’s rationale for adopting the new rule, or do you think it is an excuse to place an unnecessary obstacle on gun purchases?
