(RightWing.org) – The Biden administration appears hellbent on the destruction of former President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. On June 1, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) formally announced the termination of the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) program. Under that program, the US returned certain foreign nationals seeking admission to the US from Mexico illegally or without proper documentation to Mexico for the duration of their immigration proceedings.
DHS terminated the MPP Program after conducting a review at the direction of President Joe Biden. On June 23, DHS went a step further and expanded the eligibility for the processing of individuals in the United States to include individuals previously enrolled in the MPP Program and sent to Mexico after Trump administration officials terminated their cases. In addition, prospective immigrants sent to Mexico after failing to appear at their immigration hearing are also eligible to enter the US for processing.

Reentry into the United States isn’t automatic. Former participants in the MPP program must register online through a web page hosted by the United Nations Refugee Agency to receive an appointment to be readmitted to the US at pre-selected ports of entry along the US-Mexico border.
Long story short, Biden administration officials started letting migrants deported to Mexico by Trump administration officials as part of the administration’s “Remain-in-Mexico” program back into the United States. Seems like there are enough people coming across the border already without inviting back ones we already dealt with.
