(RightWing.org) – Radical Democrats claim to want peace in the Middle East – but it turns out they’re willing to risk war for the sake of political games. On Tuesday, radical lawmakers cut $1 billion in funding for a vital Israeli defense system from their latest spending bill.
Right now, Congress finds itself consumed in yet another battle to keep the federal government funded. These debacles, which regularly humiliate the US in the eyes of our allies, seem to become more ridiculous every year, and this time, the Democrats have added stunning cynicism to the mix.
In a bid to get Republican support for the latest funding bill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) attached the annual funding for Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system to the bill. Unfortunately for Pelosi, funding for Israel is a red flag to some of the far-left in her own party.
Radical Democrats, led by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and the rest of her so-called “Squad,” immediately began threatening to vote against the bill unless Pelosi defunded Israel’s defense systems. On September 21, they got their way, and Dem leaders pulled the funding.

It’s not clear what AOC and her cronies are trying to achieve. The Iron Dome allows Israel to intercept incoming missiles before they land in Israeli cities. Without the system, the Jewish state will likely return to its traditional tactics of launching raids to destroy the launchers and carrying out reprisals after successful attacks. That won’t do much for peace in the Middle East.
