(RightWing.org) – Democrats are on a mission to punish Republicans for their support of Donald Trump. What other conclusion based on their behavior can one arrive at? Since the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) did little to calm tensions. Instead, she seems intent on stoking flames for political gain. The hypocrisy is glaring, and Democrats are playing a dangerous game.
The latest salvo deals with a new Congresswoman who held some views Dems didn’t like prior to running for office. On Thursday, February 5, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was stripped of her newly-appointed positions on the House Committee on Education & Labor and House Committee on Budget, largely by Democrats.
What is this really about? When all the leaves are stripped bare on the tree, this has nothing to do with Greene or her past statements. It’s a partisan political vendetta for Republican support of Donald Trump. If not, those on the Democratic side of the aisle who participated in the same or similar behavior would also receive the same condemnation.
Greene Explains as Democrats Blast Away
Speaking on the House floor before the vote to expel her from the committees, Greene stated that she no longer shares the views she once did. Additionally, the first term Congresswoman professed that she never made statements about QAnon during the 2020 campaign.
Regardless, in a 230-199 largely party-line vote, Greene was removed from the committees.
Republican Asks for Fairness
Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) asked how this wasn’t a partisan attack. In numerous tweets, he reminded his followers of recent comments by Democrats that were just as wrong as Greene’s and questioned the consistency and fairness of the Democrat’s actions.
In 2019, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) made disparaging, anti-Semitic remarks against Israel. She accused the American Israel Public Affairs Committee of paying off politicians for votes that benefited the US ally. Omar was never officially reprimanded nor removed from her seat on the committee that sets US policy towards Israel.
In an infamous moment in 2018, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) incited violence as she called on Democrats and anti-Trumpers to confront Trump administration officials and Republicans. She encouraged them to get in their faces. She also accused the US government of poisoning inner cities in the 1980s.
Former Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) is an avowed Holocaust denier and accused the Bush administration of being behind 9/11.
McCarthy Issues Warning to Dems
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) warned Democrats. He asked them to “stop trying to invent dangerous and divisive ways to reabuse [sic] the power of a majority.” As a private citizen, Greene made statements, and the voters voted for her regardless.
While McCarthy said he condemned her previous views, the minority leader also said Democrats were creating a “new standard” that allows the majority party to remove the minority party’s members from a committee based on subjectively. He warned their action would be one they “regret” when Republicans take back the House.
Toxic Environment
For four years, Americans were told President Trump was the problem as Democrats investigated a fake claim of Russian collusion, a sham impeachment over a phone call with a foreign leader, constant harassment, and the list goes on.
Now that Trump is no longer in office, it’s easy to see what’s going on. Democrats created a toxic environment, and now it’s getting worse under their leadership and control.
It’s a dangerous game Democrats are playing. Let’s pray they move on with legislating instead of vindictiveness.
