(RightWing.org) – Congressional Democrats celebrated after a GOP congressman was censured and stripped of his committee assignments – but a senior Republican has warned them that some prominent leftists could be facing the same fate.
Kevin McCarthy says Democrats Ilhan Omar, Adam Schiff and Maxine Waters could ALL lose committee assignments if Republicans retake the House in attack on Gosar’s censure vote that proves there are ‘rules for thee but not for me.’https://t.co/ijD8hGlKTr

On November 17, the House voted 223-207 to strip Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ) of his posts on the Natural Resources and Oversight committees. The vote came after he posted a violent cartoon of himself attacking Democrats. The Left sees Gosar’s censure as uncontroversial, considering his behavior. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) warned that Democrats have now set a precedent that could soon turn on them.
In a powerful speech ahead of the censure vote, McCarthy highlighted equally bad behavior by some Democrats that’s gone unpunished. While he didn’t mention names, he’s previously criticized Maxine Waters (D-CA), who urged followers to harass Trump administration officials, and Adam Schiff (D-CA), who manufactured the Russia collusion scandal using a fake dossier. He also alluded to Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).
McCarthy pointed out that when House Democrats have behaved badly, Republicans didn’t remove them from their committee jobs; they just asked for an apology. He accused Democrats of hypocrisy, “Rules for thee, but not for me.” That’s going to change, he promised. He said that under the precedent set last week by Speaker Pelosi (D-CA), “all of the members that I have mentioned earlier will need the approval of a majority to keep those positions in the future.”
With the Republicans likely to control that majority next year, some of the most outspoken Democrats are suddenly on shaky ground.
