Workers Go on Strike on Prime Day

Did you order anything from Amazon on Prime Day? Countless Americans enjoyed discounts on a wide variety of products. These benefits for consumers come with an ugly, hidden price tag: the mistreatment of American workers.

Amazon favors AI-powered automated machines to run their warehouses over providing Americans with quality jobs with good pay and benefits. Amazon hasn’t fully phased out their human workforce, but that doesn’t stop this Silicon Valley-friendly corporation from treating their employees like dirt. So, protestors went to the streets with their grievances.

Shouts of “We are not machines!” can be heard on the video below.

Andrew Yang, one of the many DNC presidential candidates, called out Amazon for paying absolutely nothing in taxes last year. He has his own solutions to control the big tech-related giant, but can we really trust a Democrat to put Amazon in their place? We already have an experienced businessman in the White House who can handle any task, no matter how impossible it may seem.

One thing is clear — something needs to be done for the sake of keeping well-paying American jobs out of the hands of automation and AI.

SHOCKING: 76 Billion Opioid Pills Responsible for 100,000 American Deaths

We all know the opioid crisis is a terrible tragedy afflicting the country. Now, we know the true cost of this epidemic and the future it holds for us if we don’t stop it. These newly-released stats paint the truly grim picture of what happened between 2006 and 2012.

The death and destruction of American families for pure profit is intolerable. What’s worse is this isn’t a widespread phenomenon — only SIX companies are responsible for pumping out 75 percent of those pills. The painkiller epidemic needs to stop NOW.

Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Tribute

In some lighter news, the Washington Monument will turn into a rocket in reverence of the Apollo 11 moon landing on July 20, 1969. The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum is projecting a life-size replica of the Saturn V rocket this week. Then, on Friday and Saturday, they’ll play a film recounting the Apollo 11 launch.

Let’s never forget where we came from or the incredible accomplishments we’ve achieved in our country in spite of all the bad happening in the world right now. Be proud to be an American.
