(RightWing.org) – Justice Clarence Thomas stood up for democracy – and the independence of the Supreme Court itself – on Monday, when he wrote a powerful minority opinion on why the Court should review two Pennsylvania cases linked to November’s election.
I stand corrected: Gorsuch did join Thomas & Alito in dissent:
“Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch, all conservative members of the court, dissented from Monday's order.”https://t.co/KLKSxHfi3m

Thomas, joined in his dissent by Justices Neil Gorsuch and Samuel Alito, wrote his opinion that the cases were a perfect opportunity to clarify the powers of state legislators and courts to set election rules before the next presidential election. He concluded by noting the Supreme Court’s refusal to take this opportunity was “baffling.” However, some concerned experts think they know why the court has been treading so carefully.
In a February 22 interview with Newsmax TV, former presidential advisor Dick Morris said the Supreme Court is being intimidated by Democrat threats to pack it with liberal justices unless it keeps ruling the way the Biden administration wants. Calling the threats “a device… to neuter and intimidate the Supreme Court,” Morris highlighted the clear violations of the Constitution forced through before the election by Pennsylvania’s supreme court, and offered a stark explanation of why SCOTUS won’t take the case: “This is a court that is in terror of being packed.” Did Clarence Thomas blast his fellow justices so harshly because he agrees with Morris?
