Chris Christie Is Running for President Soon

(RightWing.org) – Former New Jersey governor and Trump acolyte Chris Christie mounted an unsuccessful campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in late June 2015. However, he dropped out in early February after placing sixth in the New Hampshire primary. Recent news reports indicated he’s preparing to announce his latest bid for the White House.

On May 31, reports emerged claiming Christie is expected to return to New Hampshire on Tuesday, June 6, to announce his bid for the GOP’s 2024 nomination. According to the article, Christie is set to make his announcement during a town hall-style campaign event at Saint Anselm College, a private Catholic liberal arts school in Manchester.

The New York Times recently reported that Maria Comella, a longtime Christie adviser and former chief of staff to disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), is expected to run Christie’s campaign, along with Mike DuHaime, who served as the chief political strategist for his failed 2016 run.

Additionally, financier Anthony Scaramucci indicated he would support Christie’s campaign. The hedge fund adviser was a fundraiser for former President Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign and supported former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign against Donald Trump. In a curious twist, he later served as Trump’s White House Director of Communications for 11 days in 2017.

Axios reported that Christie’s crack team indicated he would run a joyful campaign aimed at piquing the interest of the nation’s “exhausted majority.” They also said he would run as an authentic warrior who speaks his mind and isn’t afraid to challenge other candidates like Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

According to the NY Times, Christie also plans to run an unconventional bid for the GOP’s nomination. Instead of focusing on bellwether states, he intends to take his campaign to areas where he thinks his message will resonate the most with voters.

Several of Christie’s allies recently formed a super PAC called “Tell It Like It Is” to support his candidacy. Longtime adviser and Republican National Committee member William Palatucci is set to lead it. Political strategist Russell Schriefer heads up the PAC’s messaging, and TargetPoint Consulting’s founding partner Brent Seaborn will handle voter targeting efforts.
