(RightWing.org) – China has never been transparent in its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. It muffled the voices of whistleblowers early on during the outbreak, and many have questioned the legitimacy of infection statistics it put out. Now, it seems that China’s lies can no longer be ignored.
China has raised its coronavirus death toll by 50% in Wuhan, where the coronavirus outbreak first emerged, amid accusations that the government had concealed the extent of the epidemic https://t.co/teR0hOjte4

Wuhan, China, the source of the global disaster, reported the city’s death count at 1,290 prior to Friday, April 17. But it was revised to 3,869 deaths, more than double the previous report. Officials also reported an additional 325 new infections in their revision, bringing the total to 50,333.
A new “investigation” was the source of the increase in deaths. Apparently, casualties that happened in homes during the start of the outbreak weren’t counted. The revision also took into account inaccurate hospital reports made when medical services were overwhelmed.
Of course, this explanation requires taking China’s explanations at face value. It’s hard to believe that these deaths were just the result of inaccuracies given the government’s penchant for secrecy surrounding the virus. China is well-known for its tendency to cover up those things it finds embarrassing and hide information that’s inconvenient, and this might just be more of the same.
