(RightWing.org) – As soon as President Trump nominated Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, liberal activist groups and Democrats immediately came out hard against her. Planned Parenthood said the judge is a direct threat to women’s reproductive rights. Others are going as far as to protest at the homes of Republican senators. Now, former first daughter Chelsea Clinton is joining the liberal chorus.
.@chelseaclinton: "Ruth Bader Ginsburg was 'The Great Dissenter.' Now it is our turn to dissent against Trump’s choice for Ginsburg’s replacement and against the rush to confirm her before Election Day." https://t.co/cA42w5PQOb

In an op-ed in Cosmopolitan shared by her mother, Hillary Clinton, on Twitter, Chelsea said all American’s should “dissent” the choice of Barrett in a hyperbole-filled rant. Like other groups, she said the selection should be delayed for the next president. The younger Clinton also praised former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s views on abortion and birth control.
The former first daughter said there were two things people could do to stop the nomination. Speak up and vote.
Apparently, Chelsea Clinton believes Judge Barrett’s nomination can be stopped. That runs contrary to the way the confirmation process works. Now that President Trump has made his selection, it’s up to the Republican-led Senate. It appears the judge has the votes needed to confirm her to the high court. All that’s required is a simple majority of 51 votes. Republicans have a small 53 margin majority in the Senate.
The confirmation process is sure to be interesting, to say the least. We’ll keep you updated as the details develop.
