(RightWing.org) – Some people, like California Governor Gavin Newsom, are taking drastic measures to combat the coronavirus. Where states like New Jersey and New York have implemented 8 p.m. curfews on gatherings above 50 people, California just got a lot more strict. Newsom just ordered all Californians to stay home barring those who provide essential services.
STAY AT HOME: The order, which is an urgent effort to slow the spread of #COVID19 in California, shuts down all non-essential businesses. Essential services such as gas stations, pharmacies, grocery stores and banks will remain open. Details: https://t.co/0J41ladJi2 pic.twitter.com/nNaDVPUo9S

Individuals can leave their houses to obtain necessary supplies and services, care for friends and family affected by the virus, or if they participate in critical infrastructure sectors of the economy.
Currently, there is no end date in sight for this “stay at home” mandate.
California is the most populated state in the US and it has 958 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 19 have died from it. Asking almost 40 million people to stay at home is a tall order. While it is the state’s right to implement this policy, only time will tell how this new mandate pans out in the long run.
