(RightWing.org) – Pete Buttigieg has notoriously struggled with the African-American voter due to his time as mayor of South Bend, Indiana. Buttigieg only polls at around 2% with black voters across the nation. With his latest blunder, his support might plummet even more.
In his attempt to describe “dark money,” Buttigieg let out a Freudian slip, calling it “black money” instead — as he was surrounded by African-Americans.
WATCH: Pete Buttigieg refers to dark money as “black money” in a room full of black people, catches himself, gets called on it, and manages to swiftly make things worse.

Pete’s attempts at regaining support among black voters in America don’t seem to be going so well, especially after this clip went viral. Buttigieg also received some blowback from one of his newest campaign shirts reading “Invest in Black America.”
While he narrowly recovered from this embarrassing gaffe, this is sure to be a moment that Pete’s detractors will remind him about.
