Biden Officials Are Buying Drones From China Despite Them Being on Blacklists

(RightWing.org) – The Biden administration is allowing federal agencies to buy drones from a Chinese manufacturer that admits it’s linked to the ruling communist party. It seems the White House doesn’t see a problem having Chinese spy systems reporting on the United States Secret Service activities.

In 2020, the Trump administration added Da Jiang Innovations, manufacturer of the popular DJI Phantom drones, to a blacklist of Communist-linked firms banned from selling products in the US or enjoying American investments. This move followed a string of worrying reports on DJI. In 2016, the company admitted it shares data with the CCP. In 2017, the Department of Homeland Security said the company passed US government data to the CCP. In 2019, the Department of the Interior grounded all its DJI drones over security fears, and in 2020, a US cybersecurity firm confirmed DJI products transmitted data to Chinese analysts. Multiple reports from multiple sources leave no doubt: DJI’s drones are flying spy cameras that report back to Beijing.

That doesn’t seem to bother President Biden, though. Last month, a mere three days after the Pentagon warned, yet again, DJI spies for China, the Secret Service was allowed to buy eight Phantom 4 drones.

On September 21, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) told reporters, “There is absolutely no excuse for any government agency to use DJI drones.” The Pentagon and security experts all agree, but the current administration isn’t listening.
