(RightWing.org) – Democrat presidential wannabe Joe Biden has slammed President Trump’s foreign policy record, claiming it’s responsible for Cuba making another attempt at a seat on the UN Human Rights Council (HRC).
Trump's international failures have cleared a path for Cuba to join the UN Human Rights Council. This would betray Cuba's political prisoners and further undermine U.S. diplomacy. As President, I will lead by empowering the Cuban people and defending human rights.

What the increasingly-confused former VP seems to forget is, when he and Barack Obama were in the Oval Office, Cuba was elected to no less than three terms on the Council.
Biden hasn’t explained what he means by “international failures,” or suggested any way the Trump administration could have emboldened Cuba to push for another term on the 47-member body. In fact, the HRC is notoriously anti-American and has a history of being dominated by authoritarian regimes. This year’s new members, all elected to serve a three-year term, include Venezuela, Sudan and Libya.
Cuba managed to get elected to the Council in 2009, 2013 and 2016 – all while Obama was president. In fact, the Obama administration tried to improve relations with Cuba’s brutal one-party communist regime, so it’s ironic Biden is now trying to attack Trump and claim to be protecting the rights of the Cuban people.
President Trump withdrew the US from HTC in 2018. Nikki Haley, Ambassador to the UN, described it as “a protector of human rights abusers and a cesspool of political bias,”
