Antony Blinken Claims There’s “Greater Stability and Relative Peace” in Taliban-Led Afghanistan

Antony Blinken Makes WILD Claim About The Taliban – On Camera!

( – On Wednesday, April 27, President Joe Biden’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently testified before the Senate Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs to defend the administration’s 2023 budget request for the State Department. During the proceedings, Blinken appeared to make an unfounded political statement regarding the Taliban’s iron grip on Afghanistan.

Predictably, Blinken defended the Biden administration’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) followed up, asking the Secretary of State about the current “state of play” for Afghan women.

Blinken responded that conditions for Afghan women are “extremely mixed” at the moment, leaning towards “the negative.”

Graham followed up, asking, “What’s the upside?”

Sec. Blinken said that “ironically” Afghanistan is currently experiencing a period of greater “stability and relative peace” than it did before the American withdrawal. However, Blinken conceded that appeared to be the only upside to conditions in Afghanistan.

Curiously (or not?), recent news reports run counter to Blinken’s sworn testimony. For instance, on April 21, Asian News International published an article discussing horrifying conditions for Afghan females. According to the report, the Taliban recently issued a decree restricting Afghan girls from attending school past the sixth grade.

The extremist group didn’t explain the reasoning behind the restriction, and experts worry the decision suggests that Taliban hardliners are increasing their hold over the country. Making matters worse, under Taliban rule, females cannot seek a judicial remedy when fundamental human rights, like access to education, come under fire.

What do you think? Did Blinken testify truthfully or is he just naive?

You decide.
