Liz Cheney Gets SURPRISE Endorsement
(RightWing.org) – Renegade GOP Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) doesn’t have many supporters left in her own party, but she’s finally managed to pick up an endorsement. The only problem is that it’s from a Democrat. Even worse, it’s Al Franken.
I’ve decided to endorse @RepLizCheney for the Republican nomination for the House seat In Wyoming it’s my first time endorsing in a GOP primary. But I think Al Franken’s support will carry a lot of weight with WY Republicans.

In a tweet sent on August 13, comedian and disgraced former senator Al Franken announced that he had “decided to endorse @RepLizCheney” in Wyoming’s upcoming election. He admitted he had never made an endorsement for a Republican primary before, but said he thinks his support would make an impact with Wyoming GOP members who head to the poll on August 16.
Franken was elected to the US Senate in 2008, but resigned in 2018 after model Leeann Tweeden accused him of sexually molesting her during a 2006 USO tour — and had the photos to back it up. In total, nine women accused him of harassing them.
It’s unclear if Franken really believes his backing will swing Wyoming GOP voters behind Cheney or if he’s trying to relaunch his comedy career, but back in the real world it’s looking increasingly unlikely Cheney can keep her seat. Recent polls show that her Republican challenger Harriet Hageman has opened her lead to nearly 30% — and, among likely GOP voters, that widens to 50%.
Cheney has given up on her own party (which cut ties with her months ago) and is openly calling on Democrats to help her, but the Dems admit that the numbers just aren’t there to save her in the primary. Will Franken’s endorsement be enough to save her? It doesn’t seem likely.
