(RightWing.org) – America faces a multitude of issues as it attempts to reopen and restore the vibrant economy it enjoyed pre-pandemic under former President Donald Trump. Unfortunately, the Biden administration’s failed effort to get workers back on the job has led to massive bottlenecks of cargo ships off the Port of Los Angeles.
In mid-October, Biden administration officials reached an agreement with Los Angeles port authorities to expand operations to 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week. President Joe Biden spoke to reporters at a press conference announcing the deal. “We have some good news,” he stated. “We are going to help speed up the delivery of goods.”
There’s only one problem. Biden hasn’t done anything to create jobs, and without an expanded workforce to unload ships, it doesn’t matter how many hours a day ports remain open.

Sure enough, as of Monday, November 1, at least 169 ships remain anchored off California’s southern coast, awaiting their turn to unload. Stunningly, despite the Biden administration’s so-called effort to solve the problem, the number of bottlenecked ships has increased — up from 100 over the last two weeks.
It’s not like everyone, from economists to Republican lawmakers, hadn’t already warned Biden. For instance, Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO) and his fellow Republicans on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee warned the administration weeks ago of the impact of its failed policies on dockworkers.
It’s high time the Biden administration quit pursuing half-measures to address basic infrastructure needs.
