101 New Arrests in Operation Legend

(RightWing.org) – A federal crackdown on violent crime has swept up 101 people in the Cleveland, OH area. Operation Legend, which began in July, targets criminals in nine cities with serious crime problems. Sparked by the June 29 killing of four-year-old LeGend Taliferro in Kansas City, MO, the campaign is being led by the FBI, DEA, BATF and US Marshals Service.

The US Attorney’s Office in Cleveland announced on October 21 that 101 suspects have been charged in the city. Of them, 59 are charged with drug offenses, 38 for gun crimes and 4 with violent offenses. US Attorney Justin Herdman says those arrested include heroin and fentanyl distributors, carjackers and bank robbers.

Across the US, Operation Legend has led to almost 5,500 arrests so far, with 256 suspects facing homicide charges – including the suspected killer of LeGend Taliferro. Around 2,135 illegal guns have been seized and close to 600 pounds of drugs. Kansas City cops said Wednesday that federal agents were in the city for 60 days and made 518 arrests; since then the city’s homicide rate has fallen from 5.5 per week to 2.

This is what law and order looks like.
